The insert pictures the same scene as seen in B & H's 1816 one piece casting

NOTE 2:
What is pictured in the scene: A king, a maiden and a swan are in front of a castle with a group of peasants behind them. There is a woman in a doorway under a tree in the background. The king is King Henry. He is there to decide if Elsa, the woman in white, killed her brother. They are waiting for the knight she dreamed of to defend her. Finally he comes to her rescue. His boat is being drawn by a white swan. He defends her and they marry.

NOTE 3:
Richard Wagner (1813-1883) was a famous German Composer. Wagner was primarily known for his operas.
