Another version marked 9 on the tail commemorated a lumber company's convention in 1899

Note 1:
The naming of this doorstop is sometimes seen as "Springing Cat with Nine Tail".
However, this naming is misleading: the 9 is not always seen on the cat's tail and the title has the numder "nine" spelled out when if to represent its tale marking should be the numebr "9"

Note 2:
This is a 4 piece casting.
This makes it extremely difficult to keep each piece within specification, so that the entire assembly goes together as smoothly as it does.
