History
Fred Everett was a well-noted wildlife author of his time. He wrote and illustrated three wildlife books:
Wild Ducks (1946)
Fun With Trout (1952)
Fun With Game Birds (1954).

Fred Everett designed 3 doorstops for Hubley :
    3 GEESE -- --- Mold # 457
    PHEASANT -- Mold #458
    QUAIL -------- Mold # 459

All were signed on the front with:
" © FRED EVERETT " in the grass
This marking did not disturb the view of the Wildlife because it was not obvious to the eye.

Note 1:
In 1940, Hubley sold this Doorstop from their own catalog for $10.80 a dozen.

Note 2:
There is a bookend identical to this doorstop, Hubley's # 461. whose height is 5 1/2 by 5 3/4 wide.
