In 1881, Grey Iron Casting Company began as the Wrightsville Hardware Company Henry S. Stauffer and his brother-in-law, S. N. Eaby started the company to manufacture specific items: a porch support and a hinge. After a few years S.N. Eaby withdrew and Henry Stauffer changed the name to "Grey Iron Castings Comnpany and resumed bussiness. In February 1891, the company was sold.and was in constant ownship turmoil. They produced cast iron art goods (Toys, Banks, & Doorstops) Their first cast iron banks were made in 1903. In 1968. John Wright purchased the molds of the Grey Iron Casting Company
