ARCHIBALD KENRICK & SONS
Iron Founder
West Bromwich, England

In 1791, Archibald Kenrick set himself up as a Ironfounder in West Bromwich, England. He first made Belt Buckles and soon turned to Cast Iron. To cast iron you need cooling - water. So, Archibald set-up on one acre of land by a canal leased for 10 guineas a year. The company is still in business today at that very spot, but three acres. In the late 1800's, Kenrick was at its best. No museum in the world exhibiting the industrial revolution is not without an example of Kenrick domestic metalware.

Kenrick's Scottish Highlander Doorstop is in the National Museums Scotland.
