The I.S. Spencer Foundry was started by Isaac Spencer & his son in 1857. They made general harware castings and all kinds of castings for the farm. In 1919 Spencer started an Art Novelty items product line which consisted of Doorstops, Bookends, Doorknockers, Lamps, etc Their Doorstops & Bookends were in the art deco style Dogs were the main type of doorstops produced by Spencer.

They did not have catalogs like Hubley, National and the others to sell their doorstops But, they pay for local advertising. Like Littco, they also sold their doorstops in Gift Shps across the country. In 1957, the company was sold at foreclosure.
